we are the people.

Well, sorry for my delay in updating earlier this week. I was kind of in and out of being terribly ill with tonsillitis and strep. It's kind of my usual winter routine. I get it at least twice. But I'm on good antibiotics and feeling super at the moment. So my first portfolio is up on the glasshouse site. There will be two main ones, my fashion work and my portrait work. Currently just the fashion portfolio is up, but I really enjoy it. I know I keep saying it, but it's an exciting transition for me, and I love that I have someone on my side that is just as passionate about my work as I am. Check out the full portfolio here.

GLASSHOUSE ASSIGNMENT

Mac really is my stand-in for my lighting in almost every shoot I do now. It's quite comical the amount of images I have of him standing in the same location as all these different personalities that I shoot. This was last week during my first shoot for GQ! A client I've been really itching to work for, so I'm thrilled that I now can start facilitating that relationship. I'm hoping to shoot for them a lot more often. We will see. And the photo editor I worked with is rad as hell... I'd take her out for a drink any day.

Sometimes I have random boys in my studio. Sometimes they get naked, sometimes they don't. Preferably they do. Makes things interesting. I love the proportions of his body.

Somehow, when I sent film out to be developed last week, a mysterious roll of Keri Hilson appeared. This was one of the images on said roll. I love it. Although it kind of makes me think of an album cover for a christmas album. Keri is sexy in everything she does though... there really wasn't a bad picture that i took of her. Girl knows how to work it that's for sure.

- So yeah... here I am. 1:30 on a Wed night. First post of the week. I got back around 8 o'clock today from a guest lecture that I did up at New Paltz. It was really interesting revisiting my college that started shaping the path I wanted to go on with my photography and my life in general. That's what college is for I suppose. Anyway, talking about photography is something I'm very passionate about. Especially critiquing other photographers work. It's something I've always been very good at, and take pride in it. I'm a photographers photographer. Being a guest speaker kind of allows me to bring a bit of reality to the institution setting as well. I know that it's something I wish I heard more of in order to prepare myself when I was in undergrad. This life is not an easy path to choose, and it really is one that you have to be especially passionate about in order to be successful. I try and bring people's passion out and facilitate making the work better. Hopefully I did with a few of the students I spoke to today.

Um, what else what else. Um, before thanksgiving I should be doing a pretty fun fashion project with my favorite favorite stylist James Worthington Demolet. He makes me smile. I wish I got to work with him more often. We worked on the Tiny Masters of Today fashion shoot together and definitely had more than a few laughs. Our subject for this upcoming shoot is especially sexy.... and in a very hyped up movie. I've said too much already... you'll just have to wait and see.

My birthday is slowly but surely creeping up on me. Luckily most people wont be in town for the actual occasion since it's two days after thanksgiving. That way I can stay in my underwear, hang out with Trina and play video games. I'm not a big celebrator of myself.... never really have been. I feel like I've said this before, but I constantly am repeating myself. That's what happens when you blog almost every day though.

yep... more tomorrow.
